FAQ's on Eyelash Extensions

What Are Eyelash  Extensions?

They are semi-permanent eyelash extensions comprised of individual synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash.  They are applied to individual eyelashes, one extension at a time, for a natural, elegant look to lengthen and add fullness to the existing lashes.

What do they look like and how do they feel?

Eyelash extensions look and feel completely real and move with your natural lashes. Each application is customized to suit each individual. Varying lash lengths are chosen to carefully replicate the shape and frame of a natural lash line. The thickness is determined by the health and thickness of your natural lashes. The overall effect is added curl, thickness and length, opening up the eye for added definition. As long as you keep up with the relash applications, it is almost impossible to tell that you are wearing the extensions.

What are the benefits of wearing  eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions create the appearance of a brighter, more open and rested eye, thereby creating a more youthful and rejuvenated look.  Having eyelash extensions saves time during your beauty regimen allowing you to spend less time with makeup; mascara is certainly no longer necessary. The added benefit is that they look beautiful morning and night, all day, every day. Say goodbye to the application of mascara, stained tears and mascara running around the eyes. With eyelash extensions you can look and feel gorgeous from the moment you wake up until the moment you fall asleep with little to no effort.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

The look can be maintained indefinitely with the proper care and maintenance. Touch-ups are suggested once every 2-3  weeks to replace and maintain the look we have created for you.

Natural eyelashes grow in and fall out in cycles (every 60 to 90 days). When a natural lash matures and falls out, a new lash has already been growing and quickly replaces it without us noticing the turnover. This process is constant and at any given moment our many natural lashes are at different stages of maturity. Some are just growing in, while others are ready to shed. People typically shed between 1 and 5 natural lashes each day, depending on their individual growth cycles.

  Eyelash Extension Care

How do I take care of my eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are easy to maintain. You should keep your lashes clean and avoid touching them. Care of your   eyelash extensions is fairly simple: avoid oil based products, cleanse your lashes regularly and be gentle with the lashes. They are resistant to water, sweat and tears.

We will provide you with easy After Care Instructions following your procedure. To maintain your new look and extend the life of your lashes, follow these simple guidelines:

Avoid the use of oil-based products on or around the eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are ideally suited for individuals who want longer, fuller lashes without the need for much additional eye makeup. Constant application of heavy eye makeup, particularly mascara and eyeliner, may reduce the lifespan of your eyelash extensions and require more frequent touch-ups.

We recommend getting a Relash every 2-3 weeks  to maintain maximum fullness of your eyelash extensions. Waiting longer than 2-3 weeks may result in having to get a new set to repair your look and get you back on a good maintenance routine.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

You can enjoy these eyelashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Provided you follow the simple after care instructions and are not excessively exposed to heat or moisture, they will last through the natural lash life cycle and fall off with the natural lash, not before. You can swim, shower and spa as usual.

A competitive swimmer who is constantly in the chlorinated water may lose some lashes earlier than the average person. Someone who gets very frequent facials or goes into the steam room daily may lose lashes quicker. Doing an above average level of activities related to heat or constant water exposure may weaken the adhesive bond, causing some early lash extension loss.

Can I apply mascara to eyelash extensions?

One of the main advantages of wearing eyelash extensions is that you never need mascara again.

What do I do if I want them removed?

As the natural lashes cycle out and shed, eyelash extensions will shed with them. However, if necessary, your eyelash extensions can be professionally removed by  using our specially formulated adhesive remover. The removal process normally takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes for a full set. Never try to remove eyelash extensions on your own. Damage can be caused by pulling the extensions off with the natural lash.

FAQ's on Electrolysis

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. It uses electrical current through a probe inserted into the hair follicle to slowly debilitate the follicle from regrowing hair over time.

Who is a good candidate for electrolysis?

Anyone with unwanted hair growth! Electrolysis is applicable for all skin/hair types.

Does Electrolysis hurt?

Most people will experience a slight sensation as current is applied, often described as a prick or sting. Depending on the area being treated and the individual's pain tolerance, treatments can be uncomfortable.

Is it permanent?

Yes! With multiple sessions, electrolysis is a permanent process. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are needed to clear an area permanently as the follicles are each treated individually.

Can my mole be treated?

No. In the state of Florida, moles are not legally allowed to be treated with Electrolysis.

Are there any side effects after having Electrolysis done?

Immediately after a treatment, slight edema and erythema (redness and swelling) or tenderness will be present for a few hours up to a day or two. In rare cases, scarring or hyper/hypopigmentation can occur. Small scabs or bruising may form on the area of treatment, this is normal and a part of the healing process.

What should I do before an Electrolysis appointment?

  • A Consultation will be Necessary before any treatments will be performed.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure up to a week before your treatment. Electrolysis cannot be performed on sunburned skin.

  • Make sure the area of treatment is free of makeup and other substances. Avoid harsh skin products.

  • Make sure your drinking water a day or two before your appointment. The moisture gradient in your skin can be a variable for how effective your treatment is.

  • Do Not wax or tweeze! This will disrupt your natural hair growth cycles and will increase the time needed for permanent results.

  • Do not shave for 1-3 days before your appointment. Hair needs to be just long enough to be grabbed with a pair of tweezers.

  • Avoid caffiene and alcohol before your appointment. Both can dehydrate the skin and increase pain sensitivity.

Electrolysis After Care

For the first 24-48 hours after treatment, keep the skin dry and clean. Avoid sun exposure, heat (hot water, saunas/baths), friction from tight fitting clothes, working out/sweating (avoiding bacteria from sweat). It is recommended to apply an antibiotic ointment (ex. Bacitracin) on the treated area. Use gentle, non-scented cleansers when cleaning the treatment area.

DO NOT PICK! DO NOT PICK!

You may have some scabs form after 1-2 days. Most scarring occurs when you pick at these scabs. Please don't. Just leave it alone and let it heal.

After Care instructions will be given to all Clients post-treatment.
